Stucco Inspections

Within the past twenty years, the homebuilding industry adopted the use of Exterior Insulating Finish Systems (EIFS), commonly referred to as "synthetic stucco." Experience with EIFS has demonstrated that improper installation of the system results in damages to residential structural framing from chronic moisture intrusion. Over the years, improvements to the EIFS system, such as kick-out flashing and drainable EIFSystems, have been developed.

Gurtler Bros. performs stucco inspections in accordance with the national standards of the EIFS Industry Members Association (EIMA), the national professional organization of the EIFS industry, and the protocol set forth by Moisture Warranty Corporation through MoistureFree Warranty®.

MoistureFree Warranty® is a program offering various warranties on EIFS homes. In order to improve the objectivity of the inspection, MoistureFree requires that the company that performs the inspection cannot repair the damages found.

We encourage you to be present during the two to three hour inspection and ask questions about repairs and preventive maintenance to insure a properly functioning EIFSystem.
